Hungary has some very cool stuff ,A big THANKS to Tamas Baczoni for all his help with my Hungarian items ! The first Jacket is a field made item , it may date from WWII I do not know as I did not win the auction , I include it here just as a reference for early Hungarian camo pattern , these were used in Zeltbahns officialy , but some were made into field items and uniforms .
Second up is the "tree branch" pattern , these early cold war era coveralls are often mislabled as sniper suits , although they may have been used by snipers , they were in fact issued to recon and scout units and saw widespread use in the hungarian army and possibly with border guards . Although there are 2 color patterns and even a white winter version , the camo versions were issued to units at the same time regardless of time of year .
Very Nice example of the Green Version . Next are the leaf patterns , I have 3 versions but more were produced , the last dark green version is from a commercial hunting suit . One Piece Coverall Border guard/Workers Militia Interesting "Hoodie" style jacket , looks modified from Border Guard jacket as it has the button holes , but no buttons , they added a zipper and some snaps and modern pull cords for the hood and bottom , the base color is more tan then the other sample's I have . Below are some samples of the variations in colors.
Vinyl type mag pouches and map case Hurricane pattern Below this pattern was first used for Zeltbahns during WWII , it was later dropped then reintroduced in the 80's M87 para uni Modified para jacket with added AK mag pouches. Most recent 4 color . Some Hungarian caps and helmet cover.
